Business Center Supervisor Responsibilities

The Business Center Supervisor will assume a leadership role for all A/R performance metrics, working in conjunction with the Regional Business Manager to oversee accounts in the billing and collections system and provide operational insight for process improvement.  This position is responsible for all administrative functions for their respective team and monitoring the work of the A/R and Trust Fund Coordinators.  This position should also be a resource for the A/R and Trust Fund Coordinators by answering questions, resolving problems and providing training.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for employees residing in the hub location. This includes supervising, recruiting, training, coaching employees as well as and providing performance evaluations.
  • Ensures the productivity of employees and makes suggestions for changes in procedures and staffing to enhance performance.
  • Monitors the aging reports and participates in monthly calls to review and discuss how to resolve outstanding issues. 
  • Oversee the revenue posting, revenue analysis process and month-end journal entry preparation to ensure it is completed accurately and timely.
  • Oversee the electronic and manual billing process to ensure all billing is completed accurately and timely.
  • Oversee the preparation and approval of Accounts Receivable revenue adjustments to ensure revenue is accurate. 
  • Ensure all payments are posted timely.
  • Weekly, reconcile bank report to payments posted to ensure all payments are posted.  Research and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all denied claims are worked weekly to resolve and ensure timely filing and payment.
  • Review and approve all RFMS payments and withdrawals requested by the Trust Fund Coordinator.
  • Reconcile RFMS Trust Fund and Disbursement accounts, monthly.
  • Communicate all issues to Regional Business Manager and any other leaders, as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned by the Regional Business Manager, Director of Revenue Cycle and/or Vice President of Revenue Cycle.
  • Protect and honor clients’ confidentiality and right to privacy.

Specific Requirements

Education, Experience and Certification

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Management, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years accounting work required with prior supervisory experience a plus.
  • Experience in Medicaid billing and Accounts Receivable, a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have the ability to learn new computer systems quickly.

  • Working knowledge of billing and collections for Medicaid and commercial payers.
  • Planning and organization, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to proactively drive the assigned projects and reach the preset objectives.
  • Exercises independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work according to applicable regulations, company policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate and practice security and confidentiality of information.
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, organizations, and the public
  • Ability to be a team leader, maintains, manipulates, interprets, promotes, and educates the protection of health information per HIPAA regulations.
